Local heroes: Rescue divers search for two bodies

Rescue 1122 official said the men never resurfaced and they are still searching for their bodies.

SIALKOT: Rescue 1122 divers are busy searching for the bodies of two youths who drowned in the Chenab river on Friday. According to rescue officials, two young men jumped in after a minor girl who was drowning in the Chenab Head Marla on Friday evening. “The men never resurfaced and we are still searching for their bodies,” Rescue 1122 official Akram said. Sialkot residents Ali, 14, and Suleman, 18, jumped into the river after the girl and rescue teams are still searching for the boys. “They managed to save the young girl but it seems they were caught in the current,” Akram said. “We are searching for the bodies,” he said, adding  “there is little chance they could have survived this current. We still haven’t found anything but the girl’s family insists we keep searching.”
