The efforts of PAL to organize online literary pogrammes

ISLAMABAD: International online hamdia mushaira, or poetic praise of Allah Almighty, organised by Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) is admirable said National Heritage and Culture Division Federal Secretary Inamullah Khan.

The efforts of PAL to organize online literary pogrammes by observing the principle of social distance are commendable, Inam said speaking as chief guest at the virtual poetic gathering.

The mushaira presided over by Dr Ehsan Akbar. PAL Chairman Dr Yousuf khushk presented an introductory note. Prof Rabb Tabassum moderated the mushaira.

Poets from all over the country and around the world including recited their poetry through video link, which was listened by hundreds of people online.

Dr Akbar said that hamdia kalam or poetry writeen in praise of Allah was not only written by Muslims but by all the people who believe in God.

Dr Khushk said that the majority of poetry books usually begin with hamdia kalam, which shows the profound effect of Islam on poetic literature. He said that Arabic and Persian have a profound effect on Pakistani languages.
