Sindh govt to provide relief to the transporters

KARACHI: Inter-city and intra-city public transport will only be restored after the end of the lockdown, said Sindh Transport Minister Awais Qadir Shah.

Speaking to the media after a meeting with transporters on Thursday, he stated that the transporters had told the government they would only bring vehicles onto the roads once the end of the lockdown was announced by the government.

Shah said that the meeting discussed how the transport sector would proceed after the lockdown and what the standard operating procedures (SOPs) would be, as well as the modalities of running inter-city and intra-city bus services.

"The government has taken care of every sector," he said. "The Sindh government will also provide relief to the transporters and the chief minister will discuss their problems with the federal government."
