We can hope that this feeling of respect for the police will remain the same even after the pandemic is over.
RAWALPINDI: The Covid-19 outbreak has caused havoc all over the world. Economic and healthcare systems are crumbling and the virus has brought to light major flaws that the affluent people have overlooked in order to sustain their profit. They are the ones that are able to afford the necessary health precautions during these testing times. The poor and the middle class remain vulnerable, left fending for themselves.
While the rich enjoy their luxuries during quarantine, the police are out and about to tackle those who are breaking quarantine. They are risking their lives and interacting with countless people so that we remain safe inside our houses. In the past, the police were not given due respect because of the overall impression associated with their department. But this time around the police have really shown their worth. They should be equally appreciated for being the frontline soldiers during this time of crisis.
Such responsible acts of the police will surely elevate their standing in the eyes of the common man. Even during critical circumstances, they are not backing down, keeping in view the intolerable behaviour of the people. We can hope that this feeling of respect for the police will remain the same even after the pandemic is over.
