To protect ourselves from the deadly coronavirus we just need to be careful and take necessary precautions

WAH CANTT: During December 2019, the novel coronavirus was reported in the Chinese city of Wuhan. Its basic symptoms may be as minor as the common cold or may be as serious as bronchitis and kidney failure. In severe cases, pneumonia leads to death. It can also cause permanent damage to other parts of the body parts, including eyes, lungs and throat. It may be viral, bacterial or fungal. Also, there symptoms of psychological stress, including mood changes, insomnia, stress, anxiety, anger, depression and post-traumatic stress. It isn’t hard to notice people going through this. People are anxious and scared of what the future holds.

In China, these expected mental health effects have already being reported in the first few research papers published on the lockdown. The major reason includes the fear of becoming sick or of losing a loved one to the virus, as well as the prospect of financial hardships.

There is no need to fear as medical professionals from all around the world are trying to come up with a cure as fast as they can. The first Covid-19 vaccine in China is expected to be ready for clinical trials by the end of April, according to China’s vice minister of science and technology Xu Nanping. Recently, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved limited energy utilisation for chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine as a cure for Covid-19. However, it will only be safe to try them after all tests and trials are complete as medicines can cause unwanted side effects.

To protect ourselves and our loved ones from the deadly coronavirus we just need to be careful and take necessary precautions. These include taking care of one’s hygiene, practising social distancing, washing hands frequently especially after coming from the outside, frequent use of green tea or warm water and consuming healthy food to boost your immune system. Meditation is also very important. It is important to utilise the quarantine period by practising good and healthy activities. Learn something new which can help you in the future too.
