Departmental stores get SOPs for reopening in Islamabad

Ministry stresses six-feet distance between individuals

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination on Monday issued a set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for departmental stores in the federal capital to reopen.

According to the SOPs, all store workers have been instructed to wash their hands frequently with soap or clean them with a 70% alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Store managers have been directed to ensure that customers sanitise their hands before entering and while leaving the shop.

The ministry has further instructed store owners to keep thermal guns to check the temperature of customers before they step into the store. Those suffering from flu and fever must not be allowed to enter the store, the SOPs state.

The ministry further instructed that individuals must maintain a minimum distance of six feet between the, while inside the stores while all objects including doors and shelves which are touched by customers must be cleaned with disinfectants.
