Powell leads Jamaican contingent

BUDAPEST:


National 100 metre champion Asafa Powell will seek to be the first man ever to run under 10 seconds the 100 metres on Hungarian soil when he leads a strong Jamaican contingent to the Istvan Gyulai Memorial at the Ferenc Puskás Stadium.

Powell, who has run the short sprint in under 10 seconds an astounding 71 times, the most ever, will line up against MVP teammate Michael Frater and two-time IAAF world junior champion Dexter Lee, as well as Zimbabwe’s Ngonidzashe Makusha,the NCAA Division One champion and seventh-ranked man in the world this year.
