Groom, father arrested in Sindh for holding wedding function during lockdown

Guests dispersed as police raided the fuction, 13 others booked

A groom and his father were arrested on late Sunday after police raided a wedding hall in the Goth Khameesu Rind area of Sindh.

The local police officer said the raid was carried out after receiving information about a wedding function taking place in the area.

As the police raided the function, guests dispersed but the groom and his father were taken into custody.


The two were later released on bail.

Both the individuals have been booked for violating Section 144 and the current lockdown in the province, 13 unidentified people were also named in the case.

More than 3,532 people have been arrested and 1,238 cases registered for violating the lockdown in Karachi this month.
