SIU arrests six suspects in operations

The SIU recovered stolen motorcycles and weapons from the two men.

KARACHI: Six suspects, accused of involvement in heinous crimes, were arrested from across the city by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) police on Sunday.

According to an SIU spokesperson, operations were carried out in Brigade, New Karachi and Sharae Faisal areas.

The SIU arrested suspect Faiz Ali alias Faizan for his alleged involvement in terrorist activities. Ali had also been arrested for drug peddling in the past. The SIU recovered a pistol, ammunition, ice and charas from his possession.

Meanwhile, in another operation, the SIU arrested Hassan Ali who was wanted by the police for his involvement in crimes including terrorist activities, robberies and attempted murder.

He had earlier escaped during an encounter with New Karachi Industrial area police, in which two of his accomplices were killed.

Separately, Shehroz was arrested for carrying out various street crimes in the Khwaja Ajmer Nagri and New Karachi areas.

Moreover, an alleged drug peddler, Muhammad Imran, was also arrested and 1.4 kilogrammes of charas seized from him. Furthermore, alleged street criminals Asif and Ilyas were arrested for their involvement in various street crimes in the Shah Faisal and Alfalah areas of the city. The SIU recovered stolen motorcycles and weapons from the two men.
