The Pakistanisation of lunacy

Letter July 30, 2011
There is nobody in Norway who would defend someone like Anders Breivik.

NIDDERAU, GERMANY: This is with reference to Sami Shah’s article of July 28 titled “The Pakistanisation of lunacy”. I don’t think that the writer has realised that the whole of Europe has not only condemned the Oslo killings but many countries have laws, or are in the process of making laws, to make hate speech and literature, even on the internet, a punishable crime.

Compare this with Pakistan where the liberals are in a minority and too few to make any difference. There is nobody in Norway who would defend someone like Anders Breivik. Norway is a country in mourning and all of Europe is worried. Muslims and other immigrants are living in Norway and elsewhere and they can walk around without fear of harassment.
