Cop deprived of weapon, cash

KARACHI: A traffic police official was deprived of his weapon and cash in a robbery bid in the outskirts of the city on Wednesday.

ASI Sikandar Ali was accosted by four armed men on a motorcycle. According to the police, the armed men held him at gunpoint and deprived him of his weapon and cash, after which they fled.

Ali, posted at Shahnawaz Goth Pipri Traffic Section in Bin Qasim Town, was returning home after receiving news of his son falling sick. Bin Qasim Town police have registered a case against unidentified armed men and initiated investigations.
