KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah urged provinces to properly certify people when they are permitted to travel.

Participating in the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) meeting, the chief minister said three members of the Tableeghi Jamaat returned from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) to their home district Tando Mohammad Khan.

He maintained that all three members had recovery certificates but when they returned home, they were tested positive for the virus.

They were issued clearance certificates by Bacha Khan Medical Complex after the completion of their quarantine period.

"This is something serious and must be addressed accordingly," he said.

The K-P government assured the chief minister that there would be no such mistake in the future and said they would conduct an inquiry into how they were given health certificates.

The meeting agreed to link NCOC with national digital one-line integration systems - allowing it to connect with the provincial taskforce headed by Sindh.

The system would have a dashboard where relevant notifications, quarantine facilities data, number of patients, suspected patients, samples, admission in isolation centres, home isolation and hospitalisation, lab facilities and their performance data would be updated regularly.

The database would be linked to provinces and the divisional and district level would have access to view data, as well as upload and edit information.

CM Murad said the chief secretary and health department would also have access to the data.
