PHC CJ puts in place precautionary measures

Justice Seth issues directives for wearing masks, gloves on court premises

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has directed to chalk out a comprehensive plan to disinfect the record files.

The PHC spokesperson said that the PHC Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seht has issued these directives. The chief justice has directed all benches to resume hearings of all cases. Earlier, court was hearing only the cases of urgent nature, while the rest were put on hold as part of social distancing measures amid the epidemic.

Justice Seth has directed that everyone visiting the courts premises must wear masks and gloves to ensure implementation of precautionary measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the spokesperson said.

The provincial top court has also directed to establish a basic health unit in court building. The court administration has also been directed to instal thermal detectors at all the entrances of the courts and those who have coronavirus symptoms wouldn't be allowed to enter to the premises, he said. The spokesperson further said as precautionary measure, the PHC has also directed to place sanitiser, soap at various points of the court and files should be disinfected before presenting before a judge.
