Former captain Shoaib Malik has finally managed to convince the Pakistan Cricket Board with regards to the unaccounted-for £90,000 in his bank account.
Malik has been kept out of the team after failing to convince the PCB and its integrity committee over the amount but PCB officials confirmed to The Express Tribune that the all-rounder has submitted an explanation and the PCB has accepted that. According to the explanation, Malik had to show a significant bank balance to purchase a house in England for his ill mother. Malik was named as a reserve for the tour of Zimbabwe when then squad was announced on Thursday.

looking a bit into the past,Younis khan made reconciliations with Ejaz Butt and walked into the team after almost a year.Zulqarnain Haider paid Rs 5 lacks as penelty (probably Ejaz Butt knew he can't afford to pay more).Shahid Afridi is continuesly being ignored becz he annoyed Ejaz Butt.Similary,Shoaib Malik,who was out of the team since the English Summer Series last year,has taken one year to prove his innocence.On these basis, it can be argued that those who want to make it to the national team,must make some sort of a deal (obviously in monetory terms) with Ejaz Butt.Therefore,you do not need to satify the PCB,it is Ejaz Butt who calls the shots.Maybe in some time we also see Kamran Akmal depending on what amount he can pay to Ejaz Butt.After all,Mr Butt also need some money to keep his house running after his contract ends.
i was just wondering that what took him so long to give this short explanation. as far i know when this whole issue started at that time he told integrity committee that he has lend this money to his friend whose name he cud not disclose at that time. A bit confusing but at the end Pakistan team needs an all rounder like him. every thing he does will be justified only if he performs well.
