After their return to Pakistan through Torkham Border crossing in Khyber tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkwa (K-P) and Chaman Border crossing in Balochistan, these citizens will be kept in quarantine centres to be established in these border towns.
Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered for repatriation of the Pakistanis on request of Senator Senator Taj Afridi who in his letter dated April 13 informed the premier about the difficulties being faced by the common citizens as well as truck drivers stranded in the neighbouring country.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, who belongs to Balochistan, had also requested the PM to repatriate Pakistanis stranded at Chaman border.
On Thursday, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Security Moeed Yusuf telephoned Senator Afridi and informed him about the government’s decision. According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan has instructed authorities to set up quarantine centres at the border crossings.
