IHC bans entry of ‘irrelevant’ people

Parties, lawyers directed to obtain relevant information Islamabad High Court website

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday slapped a ban on the entrance of “irrelevant people” in the court premises as part of precautionary measures against the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

In a notification issued by IHC Chief Justice Athar Minhallah on Tuesday, irrelevant people and lawyers have been directed not to enter the court premises without any cogent reason.

“Judge, staff and lawyers scheduled for hearings can appear before the court,” the notification read, adding that the relevant parties in cases can only appear before the court if they have been specifically summoned.

The parties and the lawyers have been directed to obtain relevant information from the website of the high court.
