Sindh police registers case

KARACHI: A woman was killed after unidentified men hit her with a heavy object on the head as she was entering her house in Upper Gizri on Monday evening.

According to Clifton Police Station SHO Pir Shabbir, the deceased, identified as 25-year-old Safia Bibi, wife of Malik Allah Bachayo, hailed from Kahror Pakka and was working as a domestic help in Karachi.

In their statement to the police, the deceased’s family said that Bibi was attacked as she was entering her house after returning home from work. On being informed of the incident, police reached the spot and shifted the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. However, the family tried to take the body without the completion of legal formalities but barring them from doing so, police took it into custody.

The police said the postmortem of the body had been conducted and a case for the murder was registered as well. Initial investigation suggested that the attackers intended to rob the house but further probe was underway, they added.
