Adnan Jaffar makes Hollywood debut
The actor appeared in an episode of the television show 'Homeland'
It appears that veteran Pakistani actor, Adnan Jaffar has silently made his debut in Hollywood. Earlier this month, Jaffar appeared in the Showtime series, Homeland in its ninth episode called, In Full Flight. The actor essayed the role of a Pakistani General named Aziz who has a brief but heated exchange with Bunny Latif, played by Art Malik.
It is yet unclear whether Jaffar will be reprising his role in the series. In the episode that aired after it, neither his nor Art Malik's character were seen. However with an Emmy Award-winning show under his belt, perhaps we will see more of Jaffer in Hollywood in the future. Jaffer is currently a regular on Daasi alongside Adeel Hussain and Mawra Hocane, and Ruswai that stars Mikaal Zulfiqar and Sana Javed.
It is pertinent to mention that Homeland has been made the subject of controversy over the years for possibly feeling anti-Muslim and Middle Eastern sentiment. The show has also been criticised for showing Pakistan in a negative light within its storyline.
