ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: With churches in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi closed for the general public owing to the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Easter ceremonies on Sunday were largely held with few to no congregants. However, a large number of people logged in to attend the ceremonies online and from the safety of their homes.

Online special prayers were attended remotely by many people and the day was observed with simplicity. Several community members held prayer ceremonies associated with the day at their homes. Pastors prayed for the progress and happiness of the nation along with a swift end to the pandemic.

While it was not business as usual with community members not attending services in church or visiting relatives, many celebrated the day by cooking speciality items and decorating their homes with Easter paraphernalia.
