Another locality in Islamabad's Taramri sealed

Lane B-17 of the area was sealed after more cases emerged there

ISLAMABAD: The district administration of the federal capital on Sunday sealed another locality in the Taramri area of the city after new cases of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) surfaced there.

Islamabad  Capital Territory (ICT) Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat confirmed that Lane B-17 of Taramri was sealed after more positive cases of the coronavirus were reported in the area.

As many as four localities of Taramri have been sealed including Main Street, Lane C, Lane C-2 and Taramri Chowk.  Its adjoining Irfanabad area had been sealed last Thursday after 16 residents of the area had tested positive for Covid-19, Shafqaat said.

The DC added that screening and testing of their family members and their contacts have been conducted. Reports of a few people were received which revealed that some of them had contracted the virus.

These latest cases were all residents of Lane B-17 following which the area was sealed.

The health authorities have expedited the screening and testing of the people in the area.

Family members of those testing positive have also been asked to self-isolate. Details were also being collected from them about people whom they had met so they could be traced and tested, the DC said.
