In a video statement on Sunday, the PTI MPA criticised the Sindh government about the confusion over the sealing of union councils (UCs) in the metropolis, stating that the hasty announcement on Saturday had created fear among the citizens. "Even government ministers were not sure about the matter."
He further alleged that the majority of the UCs said to be sealed belonged to PTI voters, who he claimed were fed up with the policies of the Sindh government. "It is [proof of] the ineptness of this government that it issues orders without proper planning," he maintained. "The masses are not informed in advance about such steps, which adds to their miseries."
Sheikh said that people were already angry about the continued lockdown, adding that a situation was being created that would pitch the public against law enforcement officials.
Stating that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari should clarify who the spokesperson of his party's provincial government is, he further lambasted party leaders, stating that they should serve the people instead of fighting for publicity.
"The Sindh chief minister has already gotten enough publicity. He should focus on serious work now," he said.
Turning to contention over the Ehsaas Programme, he said it belonged to the federal government and was not part of the Benazir Income Support Programme. "This is the largest welfare programme in the history of Pakistan," he claimed. "We are serving the people without any discrimination and PPP leaders are requested to avoid politicising this national programme."
