PESHAWAR: The provincial government on Sunday approved the induction of some 3,024 Khasadar personnel from the South Waziristan district into the police force.

This was announced by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in a statement on Sunday. He said that the move was part of an accelerated development and merger process for the erstwhile federally administered tribal areas (Fata) into the province.

CM Mahmood further claimed that the provincial government is taking concrete steps to strengthen the law enforcement agencies in the merged districts. In this regard, he said that besides offering the necessary training, all required equipment and facilities will also be provided to law enforcers in the merged areas.

Commending the efforts of the K-P police, Mahmood said they have rendered great sacrifices, especially in the war against terrorism. He assured the force that the provincial government will utilise all available resources for the welfare of the families of police martyrs.
