Virus cases continue to rise in province
As many as 74 new confirmed patients were identified whereas total number of patients reached 2,410
LAHORE: In the last 24 hours, 74 new confirmed patients of coronavirus were identified in the province and the total number of patients had reached to 2,410.According to details obtained by The Express Tribune, new confirmed patients were being reported from all sides of the province. Reportedly, 701 zaireen, 747 members of Tableeghi Jamaat, 80 prisoners and 882 other citizens had become victims of the coronavirus. In Dera Ghazi khan’s quarantine centre, as many as 221 zaireen, 457 zaireen in Multan, and 23 patients in Faisalabad’s quarantine centre were confirmed to have had the infectious disease.
In Raiwind’s quarantine centre, 462 members of Tableeghi Jamaat as well as eight in Sheikhupura, 13 in Mandi Bahuddin, 35 in Sargodha, seven in Mianwali, 25 in Vehari, six in Rawalpindi and 35 in Jhelum were confirmed with coronavirus. Besides this, many other cases were reportedly confirmed among members of the Tableeghi Jamaat in other cities. In general, the provincial capital is at the top, among cities, with 396 confirmed coronaviruses. A spokesperson of Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department said there were 16 cases in Nankana Sahib, nine in Qasoor, 10 in Sheikhupura, 64 in Rawalpindi, 29 in Jhelum, one in Attock, four in Chakwal, 38 Gujranwala, 27 in Sialkot, eight in Narowal and 129 cases confirmed in Gujrat.
