If you follow Amitabh Bachchan’s daily blog, you’d know that he has been complaining about his eyesight of late. The veteran Indian actor is, in fact, worried that he might just be going blind, as it seems on his most recent post.
"The eyes… they see blurred images. The vision reads double and for some days now, I have reconciled myself to the fact that blindness is on its way, to add to the million other medical problems that are in me," Bachchan wrote last week.
The actor also went down memory lane to recall how his mother used to help him if he ever got hurt in the eyes, reported Pinkvilla.
"But then, today, I thought of those early years when Ma used to take the edge of her sari, the pallu, make a soft round ball with it, blow into it to make it warm and place it on the eyes. And bam! Problem solved! So I did that… hot water, a hand towel on the eyes," he added.
Big B later revealed that his doctor has assured him that he is not turning blind. It is just enhanced screen-time which is taking a toll on his eyes. "Spoke to the doc and followed his instructions of putting in prescribed eye drops every hour. He reassured me that I am not going blind but that there is far too much time being spent in front of the computer,” he revealed. “The eyes are tired, that’s all."
Nonetheless, Bachchan sounded happy that following his mother's homely remedy worked wonders for him. "And yes, Mother’s old technology worked.Yeah, I can see now!"
