ISLAMABAD: Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood Wednesday announced that state run Pakistan Television (PTV) is likely to start broadcasting distance learning classes through Tele School channel for students of Grade 1 to 12 from next week.

Government has taken the initiative to mitigate academic losses of students amid coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak and the subsequent closure of educational institutions besides the general lockdown, he said.

The education ministry in agreement with PTV has launched a TV channel, Tele School, to provide curriculum content during closure of educational institution.

Shafqat said the Tele School channel will be available from 8am to 6pm. The minister said that during the morning session, juniors will be given classes followed by seniors. He said that the PTV’s team would also add graphics and make some changes to attract attention of the students.
