Rs33m earmarked by PBC for needy legal fraternity
The amount is expected to be distributed amongst deserving lawyers at the tehsil and district level of the province
LAHORE: The Punjab Bar Council (PBC) allocated a sum of Rs33 million to support the financially-crippled lawyers across the province as coronavirus lockdown continues to limit court activities throughout the province. The PBC took this decision under the supervision of its Vice Chairperson Akram Khaksar on Wednesday.
The amount is expected to be distributed amongst deserving lawyers at the tehsil and district level of the province. Khaksar said the council has also planned to seek financial backing from the provincial government to assist those in need.
“All-out efforts will be ensured to provide relief to those struggling to provide for their families as their work suffered due to health emergency lockdown.” A couple of days back another initiative had been undertaken by the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) to help legal professionals in need of monetary assistance.
