Financial assistance distribution to begin

BISP Divisional Director Zafar Khan says social distancing will be ensured during distribution

MULTAN: Financial assistance of Rs12,000 each, under the 'Ehsaas emergency relief' programme will commence from today (April 9), said Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Divisional Director Zafar Khan.

The director said on Wednesday that the financial assistance was being provided to existing as well as new beneficiaries. As many as 31 camp sites had been established in Multan city and Saddar tehsils for disbursement of the assistance.

He further said the camp sites would remain open from 7am to 7pm. “Social distancing will be ensured during disbursement of the assistance, as part of measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus.”

BISP Assistant Director Muhammad Aamir said the assistance was being disbursed in collaboration with district management.

He added that they would ensure disbursement of financial assistance among beneficiaries within 10 to 15 days. “The assistance will be one time due to the coronavirus pandemic.” Kahror Pakka BISP Assistant Director Umair Khawaja said a total of 12 camp sites has been set up in the district.
