Deepak Perwani donates reusable and disposable PPE Suits

The equipment is also meant for skilled labour to carry out their jobs in these difficult times

KARACHI: In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent shortages in personal protective equipment (PPE) for health care workers, local designers and artists have decided to lend a hand.

Deepak Perwani is the latest designer who is giving back to Pakistan by donating reusable and disposable PPE Suits to do his part in delivering COVID-19 . The PPEs are not only meant to assist doctors, nurses and medical staff but are also for the skilled labour force to carry out their jobs in the current times, according to a press release.

Recently designer Asim Jofa had also announced decision to fund the production of protective suits. “Asim Jofa and team have taken an initiative to contribute to society and play our part in helping our front-liners to win this fight against coronavirus,” he wrote on Twitter.

Less than 48 hours later, Jofa announced on Twitter that the final prototype for the protective suit had been completed, and approved by medical experts.

“We have successfully created a final prototype of a medical protective suit made according to the guidelines provided by medical experts,” wrote Jofa, adding that the design had also been approved by Dr. Seemin Jamali, Executive Director at JPMC.
