11 ‘coronavirus positive’ doctors damage hospital, residences

Young doctors claim they are not given ‘adequate healthcare facilities’

MUZAFFARGARH: As many as 11 young doctors who were tested positive for coronavirus and were admitted in Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital, Muzaffargarh allegedly vandalised and damaged the hospital property and equipment for ‘inadequate healthcare facilities’ on Tuesday.

The hospital administration said doctors entered the hospital premises and broke the windowpanes and furniture of the hospital. Later, the doctors also entered a residential colony and damaged property. A police team headed by DPO Nadeem Abbas reached the spot after receiving a call from the hospital management.

The management asked the police to convince the doctors to leave the colony to save its inhabitants from getting infected.

Sources from the hospital administration further said these doctors came to the hospital in DG Khan and demanded separate rooms with the protocol.



Due to this reason, DG Khan commissioner was called to control the situation who made arrangements of shifting the doctors back to DG Khan Hospital.

The administration of Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital said that they have forwarded an inquiry report to secretary health. On the other hand, footage of escaping of young doctors by breaking window glasses has also surfaced through CCTV cameras.

DPO Nadeem Abbas confirmed the event and said that young doctors had been sitting at the entrance point of Allama Iqbal Colony.

He added that they were sent back to DG Khan for desired medical treatment.
