KRL maintain unbeaten run in PPFL

KARACHI:


KRL ousted NBP 2-1 in the Pakistan Premier Football League to maintain their unbeaten run and also stay top of the points table.


In the other matches, Army beat Police 3-2 and Wapda beat KPT by the same margin to earn maximum points.

Army started the match as the better team, scoring three times in the first half to stake their claims for an easy win. Sharjeel Vicky sneaked in with an early third-minute goal while Akhtar Hussain followed him in the 21st minute. Akram struck in the 28th minute as a goal-fest loomed. Police hit back in the 62nd minute and Sher Zaman reduced the deficit in the 75th but Army held on for a win.

Zeeshan Javed scored twice for Wapda in the 30th and 53rd minutes but both strikes were equalisied by KPT’s Zafar Majeed. Imran Niazi scored in the third minute of injury time to seal the result for Wapda.
