KARACHI: Visiting the drive-through coronavirus facility set up at Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim on Saturday, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani said that the provincial government was trying to provide as efficient testing facilities to the public as possible.

“The government is utilising all the resources to prevent further spread of coronavirus in the province,” he said, emphasising that containing the disease would not be possible unless people practiced social distancing strictly.

Ghani further stated that the provincial government had been compelled to take drastic actions to keep people safe. He also stressed on the importance of following the health advisory issued by the experts.

The minister was briefed about the details of the testing procedure at the centre, while the drive-through testing facility’s in-charge informed him that four people can be screened at a time there.

The facility, which is only available via prior appointment, will enable suspected coronavirus patients to get themselves tested without having to wait in long hospital queues while risking the chance of spreading the virus.
