Balochistan Kidnappings: Protest against engineer’s abduction

Baloch was kidnapped by a group of armed men from Quetta’s Satellite Town area on June 22.

QUETTA: Pakistan Workers Federation Balochistan staged a protest in front of the Quetta Press Club on Wednesday for the safe recovery of kidnapped Quetta Electricity Supply Company (QESCO) Chief Engineer Rauf Baloch.

The protestors also demonstrated against the deteriorating law and order situation in the province. Baloch was kidnapped by a group of armed men from Quetta’s Satellite Town area on June 22. According to his family, the kidnappers had contacted them and demanded Rs500,000 as a condition for his safe release. The rally started out at Quetta Metropolitan Corporation’s premises and ended outside the Quetta Press Club. The protestors chanted slogans against law enforcement agencies for their failure to protect the life and property of the people and retaining peace in the province.
