Fake news

Letter April 03, 2020
As citizens of an Islamic republic, it depends on us to act as one nation and fight this pandemic.

WAH CANTT: The coronavirus pandemic has affected more than countries. With more than 80,000 cases and 40,000 deaths all over the world, everyone is left in a state of restlessness. In this situation, social media has a great impact on people. But as the coronavirus spreads, a lot of rumours and fake news have started to circulate. Many social media websites started posting false news, pictures and videos. A lot of misinformation is being spread around, including that of different cures. Recently, Twitter announced that it would remove dangerous and misinformed tweets that can potentially cause harm to the public, which is a good step in order to stop creating panic and confusion. Instead of believing in these made-up cures, we must follow instructions given by the WHO and have faith in our government. This is a global crisis and all of us must act together so that we are able to contain the spread and save human lives.

As citizens of an Islamic republic, it depends on us to act as one nation and fight this pandemic. It is our responsibility to take care of our family, take basic measures given by the WHO and try not to spread any news without authentication.
