Minorities: Graduates still not given jobs

'We will no longer teach our children'

Express July 27, 2011

AMAN GARH: Local minority leaders have protested saying that students from minority communities are not being given jobs despite having the relevant degrees. “We will no longer teach our children. We should have them raise animals when they are children because they don’t get jobs even with a degree,” Cholistani singer Adhu Bhagat said. A local news survey has revealed that over 3,000 young graduates from minority communities are not being given jobs. “We don’t even get the jobs reserved under the quota for minorities,” Abid Masih said. The Pakistan government has set aside jobs and university seats for minority communities but locals are complaining that these positions are being taken up by Muslims.
