19 recover, 158 test positive: chief secretary

15 to 20 more patients are expected to recover from the virus in the coming days

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Secretary capt (retd) Fazeel Asghar on Tuesday said the provincial government carried-out 1854 tests out of which 158 turned out to be positive whereas 19 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

“Only Quetta district in Balochistan has positive COVID-19 cases out of 33 districts whereas 20 people in Quetta have been infected through local transmission of the fatal virus,” he said while addressing a media briefing, adding that the province welcomed 5000 pilgrims through the Taftan border.

“Fortunately 19 coronavirus patients recovered and have been discharged from the hospital whereas 15 to 20 more patients are expected to recover from the virus in the coming days as health facilities are being revamped at Sheikh Zahid Hospital,” the chief secretary further said.
