
Gujjarpura police have arrested an employee of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) and one of his accomplices after registration of an FIR on charges of leaking the question paper for the entry test, the police said.
According to the police sources, Muhammad Anees and his accomplice Syed Shujauddin Zaidi were arrested after Lt Col (retd) Farooq Ahmed, the UET security chief, lodged a complaint against them.
He said an inquiry by the administration had found Anees and Zaidi responsible for the leak.
He said other employees and outsiders may also be involved.
The police have registered an FIR under Sections 409 (criminal breach of trust by a public servant) and 109 (abetment) of the Pakistan Penal Code and started an investigation.
Inspector Ishtiaq Ahmed, the SHO, said he expected the investigation to result in arrest of the entire gang involved in the crime.
