Two Pakistani nationals test positive for COVID-19 after returning from India

LAHORE: Two Pakistani nationals, out of a group of five, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus on their return to the country from India.

The two are residents of Lahore and are kept in isolation ward of Services Hospital.

The tests for the other three individuals came back negative and one of the individuals had travelled to India for a liver transplant procedure. However, the doctors in India refused to conduct the procedure due to the patient's advance age.



They returned to Pakistan through the Wagah border on Sunday and were shifted to Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Lahore.

Two other individuals in the group had also gone to India for a follow-up check-up after a liver transplant surgery and returned on Sunday.

Both Pakistan and India have arranged a screening facility at the Wagah- Attari border. Signs of the deadly pathogen were not detected during the screening thus the citizens were allowed to return.
