Private schools restricted from taking fees in advance

KARACHI: Private schools across the province will be allowed to collect fees for only one month from parents. Any school found collecting extra fees in advance may have their registration cancelled.
In a notification issued by the Directorate of Private Institutions, Sindh School Education and Literacy Department, private schools have also been instructed not to lay off any staff members during the ongoing crisis.
Moreover, the notification encouraged schools not to collect fees from needy students during these challenging times.
It added that the institutions must pay salaries to teachers and other staff members on time, failing which they could face legal action.
