Coronavirus wards, ICUs established

PGMI Principal Dr Sardar Muhammad says initially 50 beds have been allocated in each private hospital

LAHORE: Lahore General Hospital (LGH) has completed arrangements for setting up coronavirus wards and Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in two private hospitals and issued a duty roster of doctors and paramedics for the purpose, a press release stated.

Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Principal Dr Sardar Muhammad visited the hospitals and issued instructions to the administration.

He said that as per the health department’s orders staff would be given a 15-day leave after completing one-week duty at the coronavirus isolation ward at the Lahore General Hospital.

He said initially 50 beds have been allocated in each private hospital and the number could be increased upon requirement. He said doctors and nurses would be provided with the security kits, pick-and-drop facility and food by the LGH.
