FAISALABAD: The business community of Faisalabad will continue its tradition of helping the calamity-hit people and in this connection the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) will launch a programme to provide ration to the unemployed daily-wage earners in the wake of coronavirus crisis.

Speaking at an informal meeting of the FCCI executive committee members on Monday, Chamber President Rana Sikandar Azam termed the current lockdown imperative and pointed out that the halt to economic activities had rendered thousands of daily-wage earners jobless.

“They are now unable to provide bread and butter for their families,” he lamented. Azam appreciated the announcement by industrialists and traders that they would provide full salaries to their employees during the period of business closure. He was of the view that the crisis was a test for the philanthropists and hoped that they would fulfill the need of the nation.
