FAISALABAD: A 22-year-old young man reportedly died in the city due to coronavirus.

Ahmed Zeeshan, a resident of 133 RB Chak Jhumra, was brought to General Hospital Ghulam Muhammad Abad two days ago.

The hospital sources stated that Zeeshan was hospitalised three days ago after returning from Lahore due to deterioration of health.

The chief minister confirmed his death via Twitter and wrote, “It is very sad to say that we lost another valuable life due to coronavirus. So far five people have been killed due to coronavirus in Punjab.”

Health Department and Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad have also confirmed the death of Zeeshan due to coronavirus.

Later, the body of the young man was wrapped in a plastic sheet and placed in a coffin and buried under the supervision of SHO Ghulam Mohammadabad Police Station, SHO Sahinawala and AC Jhumra.

Some people from the deceased’s family and a total of 10 residents attended the funeral.

The district administration stated that there was swelling and pimples on Zeeshan’s face which is probably due to the drug being consumed by him.

However, the DC said that those 10 people who attended the funeral have been tested for coronavirus including two women, 17-year-old Sana and 55-year-old Naseem. The district administration has been urging citizens to take precautionary measures.
