LAHORE: A full bench headed by Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan directed the federal and provincial governments to constitute a comprehensive policy for the release of those prisoners who are unable to pay their fines and ‘Diyat’.

CJ Qasim Khan emphasised the governments on the release of prisoners in seven days.

The bench’s head also suggested developing contacts with philanthropists for those prisoners who are unable to pay their fines and ‘Diyat’.

CJ Qasim expressed his displeasure over the non-satisfactory answers of the additional attorney general on what measures the federal government had taken for screening those who landed in Pakistan from January 1 to February 12.
