The corona crisis

e need a strong plan on how to put our economy on the path of recovery as soon as this pandemic is under control

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s economy was already at its low ebb facing high inflation when it has been hit by the coronavirus pandemic. In addition to this, the current spell of rains might have devastating effects on the standing crops and put further pressure on the struggling economy. We must plan to store and secure these crops as soon as ready. We can’t take the risk of leaving farmers at the mercy of unpredictable rains and weather patterns. Our leadership must show vision and plan for the days ahead. We need a strong plan on how to put our economy on the path of recovery as soon as this pandemic is under control. The government and politicians need to realise that a strong economy can only be built on education and healthcare for all. We, as a nation, must pay attention to every sector of the economy, while the government creates consensus to initiate projects for building dams and other infrastructure. This would not only take care of future needs, but also create employment. Similarly, all segments of society must come together to do their bit to make the country strong and prosperous so that we get out of this crisis. What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.
