Amir Khan offers an entire building to facilitate COVID19 patients

Amid the healthcare shortages, the two-time boxing world champion is willing to do whatever he can

British Olympic boxing medalist and two-time world champion Amir Khan has recently made a huge announcement that could help facilitate those fighting the coronavirus right now.

Following the increasing COVID19 cases in the UK and all around the globe, medical practitioners and hospitals have been struggling to facilitate those infected. Insufficient equipment, tests, beds and quarantine wards have been all over the news - regardless of the amount of facilities available.

The star has thus, jumped in the bandwagon of celebrities donating in this difficult time and announced that he is willing to offer his property in Bolton, UK.

Khan posted a picture of himself standing in front of this four-storey building of his, hoping that it can be used as space to help COVID19 patients.

He wrote, "I am aware of how difficult it is for the public to get a hospital bed in this tragic time. I am prepared to give my 60,000 square-foot, four-storey building which is due to be a wedding hall and retail outlet to NHS (National Health Service) to help people affected by the coronavirus. Please keep safe."

He then addressed the National Health Service in Bolton - his hometown, where the building stands - saying, "We are looking down the barrel of bed shortages and people not getting vital treatment."

He added that the department had thanked him, however, currently they have not reached capacity. "NHS Bolton will bear this in mind. The offer is there. Please keep safe everyone," concluded Khan.
