SUKKUR: Coronavirus phobia among the people is intensifying as it is resulting in self-testing and self-medication. Anyone having common cold, cough or fever believes oneself to be infected by coronavirus. Some psychiatric patients suffer from hypochondriasis which means that they develop a phobia about their fears. Psychiatrists have warned people not to panic as many people have developed severe phobia of getting the virus, despite not having any signs and symptoms. According to psychiatrists, people develop severe panicky states. Some tell-tale signs of this panic state include palpitation, dryness of mouth and numbness of whole body besides interrupted sleep and waking up during midnight with panic attacks. Medical experts have advised in case of common flu or flu like symptoms not to panic, just stay home and check your fever randomly. Even if someone is affected by the coronavirus, in majority of the cases symptoms are mild and they improve spontaneously without requiring hospital treatment. Nevertheless, if there is difficulty in breathing then they may go to hospital.
