Quetta District Jail inmates screened

'Khozak Foundation caters to the need of people and provides healthcare facilities free of cost across the province'

QUETTA: A two-day screening process of coronavirus for prisoners in District Jail Quetta was completed on Monday, according to a statement issued by the department. With the collaboration of Khozak Foundation, around 754 inmates, including 12 women, were screened for the deadly virus while 54 officials of the prison were also tested.

Medical team cleared all the tested people as the screening results were negative.

Under the supervision of the foundation’s chairman Mohammad Aslam Achakzai, the medical team comprising Dr Din Mohammad, Dr Nazir Ahmed, Dr Zakria, Mohammad Saleem Achakzai, Abdulllah Khan and Abdul Manan visited the prison and conducted the screening. Initially, the team examined the inmates with

‘infrared thermometer’ and later conducted basic testing for flu, fever and blood pressure. Besides, the foundation distributed free of cost masks and gloves among the inmates during the screening. During the visit, the chairman vowed to continue efforts for the welfare of people.

“Khozak Foundation caters to the need of people and provides healthcare facilities free of cost across the province,” said Aslam, appealing the provincial government and philanthropists to cooperate with them for the noble cause. District Jail Incharge Agha Aslam lauded the efforts of the foundation and expressed gratitude for the screening of inmates.
