Sindh govt bans pillion riding

Action, in accordance with the law, will be taken against any person violating the ban, the notification states.

KARACHI: The Home Department issued on Tuesday a notification stating that pillion riding had been banned across Sindh. As per the notification, the ban has been enforced as a measure to curb the spread of coronavirus and will continue till however long the lockdown lasts.

Action, in accordance with the law, will be taken against any person violating the ban, the notification states.

As a result, police and other law enforcement agencies patrolled various areas and major highways, including Shahrae Faisal, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, New Karachi, Gurumandir, Keamari, Kharadar, Landhi, Korangi, Shah Faisal Colony and Orangi Town, on the day, stopping commuters on check points and questioning them. They mainly asked the commuters about the reasons they were out and details of the journey.
