In February it was downloaded close to 113 times by App Store and Google Play users globally, making it the app’s best month ever for both installs and revenue according to Sensor Tower.

Bytedance’s most popular overseas app TikTok dethroned Facebook to become the second most downloaded app in the world behind WhatsApp with installs up approximately 96% year-over-year from February 2019.
India has been the biggest market for the app with 46.6 million installs last month accounting for total 41.3% of installs worldwide. Coming in second is Brazil with 9.7 million downloads, with the United States with 6.4 million installs.

Google Play still accounts for the majority of TikTok’s downloads, accumulating 93.2 million installs in February 2020, or an overwhelming 82.5% of the total.
The App Store, meanwhile, generated 19.7 million downloads, or 17.5% of the total.
The app has grown in popularity around the world with celebrities joining in, there has been a spike in demand.
