Ration to be supplied to pilgrims’ homes

DCs of respective districts were provided with addresses of families

BHAKKAR: The district administrations across Punjab have been directed to prepare lists and make arrangements for the distribution of grocery items (ration) to the families of pilgrims currently under quarantine in Multan.

Pilgrims belonging to 34 districts of the province were staying in Multan quarantine. The deputy commissioners of respective districts have been provided the addresses of the families of the pilgrims, who will be beneficiaries of the ration.

In these districts, families of pilgrims will be provided grocery items sufficient for a 15-day period.

Among the quarantined pilgrims, 40 pilgrims belong to Bhakkar district, including people from Darya Khan tehsil. The details obtained by The Express Tribune revealed that two ration bags, including a flour bag and a bag containing essential items, will be delivered to the house of every pilgrim staying in Multan’s quarantine facility.



The pilgrims staying in the said quarantine facility include 71 pilgrims belonging to Multan district, 17 pilgrims belonging to Bahawalpur district, 32 from Rahim Yar Khan, 32 belonging to Lodhran and seven from Khanewal.

Other quarantined pilgrims include 12 pilgrims from Vehari, 11 pilgrims from Dera Ghazi Khan, 71 pilgrims from Layyah, 75 pilgrims of Muzaffargarh, 53 pilgrims of Rajanpur, 52 pilgrims of Sargodha, 10 pilgrims of Mianwali, 29 pilgrims of Khushab, 40 pilgrims of Bhakkar, 11 pilgrims of Jhelum, 17 pilgrims of Attock, nine pilgrims of Chakwal, six pilgrims of Sahiwal and 63 pilgrims of the provincial capital.
