Hollywood veteran Tom Hanks has assured his fans that he and his wife, country singer Rita Wilson now "feel better", reported The Hollywood Reporter. The actor updated his fans in a tweet wherein he also urged his followers to help each other out in these difficult times.

“Hey, folks. Two weeks after our first symptoms and we feel better. Sheltering in place works like this: You don’t give it to anyone – You don’t get it from anyone. Common sense, no?” Hanks wrote.

He added: “Going to take a while, but if we take care of each other, help where we can, and give up some comforts. This, too, shall pass. We can figure this out.”

On the same day, Wilson posted a video of herself rapping to Naughty by Nature's Hip Hop Hooray.

Last week, the couple left a hospital in Australia Queensland, five days after testing positive for the coronavirus.

Hanks had traveled to the Gold Coast, on Australia’s east coast south of Brisbane, to begin filming a movie about Elvis Presley. He is set to play Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, in the Warner Bros production. Warner Bros is owned by AT&T.

Hanks and Wilson were the first major American celebrities known to have contracted the coronavirus, which causes a disease, COVID-19, that has killed more than 70 people and infected more than 3,800 in the United States.
